The color scheme for this Christmas page was chosen to compliment the photo, one of my dad reveling in his job as Santa. Sorting through the papers from American Crafts' Peppermint Express collection, I picked out all of the blue, pink, red and brown, purposefully ignoring those that were green, and came up with the pretty combination below.
Here is a close-up of the banner:
Two of my favorite stamps from the Peppermint Express stamp set were made to resemble postage stamps:
How do you scrap Christmas? Do you go with traditional colors, let your photos dictate your color scheme, OR do you do a bit of both?

This is such a wonderful page Madeline. The perfect color combo. I let my photos dictate the colors of my pages. And unfortunately, I can't venture out of the red and green, as everything Christmas in my house is traditional Christmas colors, as that is what my DH wants and likes.
Fabulous page! I love this color combo. It's clearly a holiday layout, but the non-traditional colors make it fun and interesting. :)
Oh, Madeline, this is lovely! What a sweet picture, and I'm really loving those blues so much with touches of red and gold - lovely!! I looked through your other layouts on the first page of your blog and enjoyed the view this morning!! You do lovely work.
Awww, that is such a sweet photo, Madeline! Love the finished page and your (always awesome) banner work. :) Happy Thanksgiving!

What a precious layout, the colors are perfect and wintry!
This is such a lovely page.
I love all the layering you have done, but while still focusing on the wonderful photo.
Such a sweet layout! I think I am usually happiest with my non traditional color holiday layouts or metallics. The photos usually have enough color but I keep buying all that themed stuff anyway!
