Sometimes I spend hours on a page, sometimes days. There are times when
an unfinished layout sits and stews for a week while I decide what to do
next! The page below was one of my quicker creations. I had just
completed three pages with Scraptastic's Days of Our Lives kit,
and most of the papers had already been dissected. After that first cut
is made, subsequent ones are a breeze, so I went ahead and cut six strips
from what remained of my kit papers, arranged them haphazardly, added a
title, journaling, and a couple of embellishments and called it done.
This was such a quick and adaptable design, that I thought it would make a
great challenge for the Scraptastic blog. The challenge is to adapt a 6-strip strategy for your next scrapbook
page. The 6 strips can be arranged either vertical or horizontal,
depending on the size and orientation of your photo, but they must be
cut from 6 different papers. Find a photo and pick some papers that
bring out the colors in your picture. Cut strips of various lengths and
widths, then play with them to find a pleasing arrangement. Once you
have those six strips, the rest is up to you. Either go minimalist like
the page above, or go all out embellishing. Whatever you do, enjoy the
process!
If you'd like to play along you have until February 6th at midnight to submit your entry for the challenge HERE. This month's prize winner, drawn randomly from all January challenge entries, will receive $20.00 to spend
in the Scraptastic Club Store.

love all the paper strips! great job
Great layout...love the Disney banner at the top left.
That is great that you were able to make it up so quickly...I think when you have a good, clear idea in your mind about how you want it to turn out...it really helps!
Such a great design with all of the paper strips (and a great way to use up scraps). I always enjoy seeing your Disney pages. :)
So cute! Love all the papers! :)
I always love to see Disney photos and layouts. Great use of the strips and the colors totally match Disney :-)
This is really fun and the colours are very 'disney'! I like how the word 'RIDE' stands out even though it's layered on several patterns! x
What a fun page. I love all the paper strips.
Fun layout. Love how you used the white space for journaling. Terrific use of strips and love the mouse banner pieces,
